RAPID CITY, SD – Golden West Technologies recently achieved Service Organization Control 2 (SOC 2) Type 1 certification. Golden West began the review process with Schellman & Company, LLC late last year to test criteria in five areas – security, confidentiality, availability, processing integrity, and privacy.
“Undergoing and passing this examination demonstrates our commitment to security and data protection practices,” said Nick Rogness, chief technology officer for Golden West. “SOC 2 certification provides third-party assurance that the controls we have in place meet the extremely rigorous security and compliance standards in managing our customers’ data.”
Schellman & Company is an IT compliance attestation firm that audited Golden West Technologies’ information security controls, including how data is stored, handled, and transmitted. Golden West takes its responsibilities seriously to safeguard client data and access, and this third-party validation is an important part of the organization’s approach to cybersecurity.
With Golden West’s SOC 2 certification, customers and vendors can be more confident that their information is protected against unauthorized access, security incidents, and other threats. SOC 2 compliance is a voluntary standard, but it is becoming increasingly important for businesses that handle sensitive data.
Golden West Technologies makes every effort to provide the best products and services possible for all clients through offerings like managed IT services, technology projects, and unified communication solutions. Golden West Technologies’ adherence to the SOC 2 standard is just one of multiple layers of protection in place.
